Excursions and tours

The rich history and beautiful architecture of Munich can be explored through our many museums and guided tours. Wednesday afternoon 2-6pm, after the second poster session, we encourage all participants to self-organize into small groups of friends and colleagues and explore the city. Visit one of numerous art galleries (Alte Pinakothek for medieval to renaissance art, Pinakothek der Moderne for modern art), our expansive science, technology, and natural history museum (Deutsches Museum), one of our antiquities collections (ancient Egyptian art, Greek/Roman/Etruscan statues, Antiquities), or visit the historic Munich royal residence and treasury.
